Competitive exams, board results, university papers – ek chhota marking error bhi student ka saal kharab kar sakta hai. Isi liye revaluation/rechecking aur answer script access ke legal dimensions important ho gaye hain.
Courts generally मानते hain ki academic experts ko marking me wide leeway milna chahiye, lekin basic fairness maintain rehna zaruri hai. Agar rules provide karte hain rechecking/revaluation ka mechanism, to authorities usko arbitrarily deny nahi kar sakte. Transparent, time-bound grievance redressal process hona chahiye.
Right to information frameworks ne bhi help kiya hai – many cases me students ko apne answer scripts ki copies milne ka right recognise hua hai. Ye double benefit deta hai:
- Student khud dekhta hai kaha galti hui,
- Marking quality aur patterns ke bare me systemic feedback milta hai.
Of course, har low mark “unfair” nahi hota; courts selective intervention karte hain – specially jahan procedural irregularity, bias, mass errors, ya tampering ki credible allegations ho.
Students ke liye smart step hai rules pehle se padhna – kaun se exams revaluation allow karte hain, kaun sirf totalling error correction tak limited hain, aur deadlines kya hain. Time-barred representations rarely help.
